This raises a number of questions:
It is very true that in Tanzania, tourism is concentrated in the Arusha and Zanzibar areas with more than 90 percent of visitors spending most of their time in these two areas.
This raises a number of questions:
1. Should Tanzania attempt to attract more tourists than
Kenya or Uganda in order to create more jobs locally?
Is Tanzania adequately marketing itself to the outside
world?

MOUNT KILIMANJARO: FEEL SAFE AND WELCOMED
Tanzania’s famous peaceful nature, political stability and hospitality of its people make tourists flock to Tanzania for leisure and holiday. Tourists need to feel safe and welcomed. And who doesn’t wish to be at the top of Africa?
Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro “the roof of Africa” climbers have a vast choice of which route to take and that means what choice of experience of the mountain they want.
Having five routes to choose from, Mount Kilimanjaro can accommodate an average of 50,000 tourists a year. The most preferred routes are Marangu and Machame depending on the preference.
It is funny how people preferences can differ. Some like adventure to the route wth many climbers where while climbing they talk all the way. But for others they prefer routes with few climbers who enjoy walking alone listening to their music.
Some routes are richer in wildlife compared to others, this also affects ones choice furthermore, some routes are tougher and shorter.
For instance, Umbwe route has small mammals and forest birds, thick montane forest, gives an opportunity to walk along the greater Baranco wall. It is the hardest
of all and the shortest one.
of all and the shortest one.
The country policy on tourism put emphasis on low volume high value. The policy is meant to maintain the quality of tourism activities in the country and the quality of (parks) conservation standard.
Unlike many of the African conserved areas, the Tanzanian national parks are well conserved and natural.
As for deadly disease Ebola outbreak, Africa is a very big continent with more than 50 countries. Therefore, tourists should not worry about coming to Tanzania as the country has not been affected by the disease. The only thing you need to do is understand the geography of the continent.
SERENGETI, TANZANIA: PHOTOGRAPHERS PARADISE
“As the Lion King celebrates its 15 Anniversary in London this week, our safari expert reveals Africa’s top five parks for lion spotting.
Serengeti National Park, Tanzania one of the few places in Africa where lions are not in decline. Latest figures put the Serengeti’s lion population at around 3,000. The biggest prides occupy the open plains in the South of the park between the Naabi Gate and the Seronera River. If you are lucky you may find them posing on the granite kopjes that rise like ruined castles from the grass.”
World famous Serengeti in Tanzania is the prime tourism destination. It is very rare to talk of the best wildlife sighting in the world without mentioning Serengeti.
Due to the uniqueness of this wildlife sanctuary and the fact that it offers unparalleled wildlife spectacles, it has attracted a lot of film makers and photographers, not to mention tourists flocking the park from around the globe.
The great migration is in Serengeti National Park. The distribution is awesome as partly is at Naabi plains in Southern Serengeti while others are move towards Southern and the rest of the herds are at Lobo and central South at Barafu and Utafiti Kopjes.
